To boost the international cultivation of doctoral students and strengthen the global competitiveness of high-level talents, supported by the University Graduate School, a nine-doctoral student delegation led by Teacher Yong Zhang, conducted an eight-day academic exchange in Uppsala, Sweden and Moscow, Russia from September 12 to 20, 2026, based on the platform of the China-SCO Innovation Center for Doctoral Training.

From September 13 to 14, the delegation visited Uppsala University and its Biomedical Center (BMC). Dr. Yan from the BMC escorted the group to tour research laboratories and the campus, offering an immersive experience of the university’s time-honored cultural heritage and rigorous academic ambiance. The team conducted in-depth academic discussions with Dr. Yan and his research group focusing on frontier directions including fundamental biomedical research, drug development, and biomaterial translation. The delegation acquired a comprehensive understanding of the BMC’s research layout and experimental platform construction in molecular medicine and cell biology, as well as its interdisciplinary strategies for biomedical research.
