The Faculty Development Subcenter of the School of Life Sciences and Medicine Hosts an Educational Lecture

On September 23, 2025,the Faculty Development Sub-Center of the School of Life Sciences and Medicine invited Professor Zhao Jing, Deputy Director of the Faculty Development Center Office at the Air Force Medical University, to deliver a lecture titled “Development and Implementation of the AI-Based Textbook *Medical Biochemistry*.” The lecture was chaired by Professor Nie Huan, Deputy Dean of the School, and faculty members participated online.

 Professor Zhao Jing is a Distinguished Teacher of Shaanxi Province, Vice Chair and Secretary-General of the Education Branch of the Chinese Biochemical Society, and a national expert in undergraduate education evaluation. She has received numerous teaching awards, including the Special Prize at the First National University Teachers’ Digital and Intelligent Education Innovation Competition, the First Prize at the First National Medical School Young Teachers’ Basic Teaching Skills Competition, and the Special Prize for Provincial Teaching Achievements. She possesses extensive experience in AI textbook development and educational instruction.

 During the lecture, Professor Zhao Jing shared her experiences and insights from four perspectives: “Development Background, Philosophy and Objectives, Content Features, and Application Considerations.” She emphasized that the development of AI-based teaching materials is merely a tool in the era of AI-driven education; the key lies in identifying the “underlying core issues” and clarifying teaching objectives, which enables more effective application of AI tools and enhances teaching quality.

 Following the lecture, participating faculty engaged in a lively discussion with Professor Zhao Jing. In his concluding remarks, Professor Nie Huan thanked Professor Zhao Jing for her insightful presentation and encouraged faculty members from the School of Life Sciences and Medicine to fully integrate the concepts and methods discussed in the lecture into their own teaching practices, thereby collectively advancing the quality of life sciences and medical education at our university.
